Certain Things You Probably Don't Know About Ketogenic Diet

"KETOGENIC” is a term for a low-carb diet (like the Atkins diet). The idea is for you to get more calories from protein and fat and less from carbohydrates. You cut back most on the carbs that are easy to digest, like sugar, soda, pastries, and white bread. The diet forces the body to burn fats rather than Carbohydrates.

How it works
When you eat less than 50 grams of carbs a day, your body eventually runs out of fuel (blood sugar) it can use quickly. This typically takes 3 to 4 days. Then you’ll start to break down protein and fat for energy, which can make you lose weight. This is called KETOSIS.

Who use it
People use a ketogenic diet most often to lose weight, but it can help manage certain medical conditions, like epilepsy, too. It also may help people with heart disease, certain brain diseases, and even acne, but there needs to be more research in those areas. Talk with your doctor first to find out if it’s safe for you to try a ketogenic diet, especially if you have type 1 diabetes.

Weight Loss
A ketogenic diet may help you lose more weight in the first 3 to 6 months than some other diets. This may be because it takes more calories to change fat into energy than it does to change carbs into energy. It’s also possible that a high-fat, high-protein diet satisfies you more, so you eat less, but that hasn’t been proved yet

Cancer
Insulin is a hormone that lets your body use or store sugar as fuel. Ketogenic diets make you burn through this fuel quickly, so you don’t need to store it. This means your body needs -- and makes -- less insulin. Those lower levels may help protect you against some kinds of cancer or even slow the growth of cancer cells.

Heart Disease
It seems strange that a diet that calls for more fat can raise “good” cholesterol and lower “bad” cholesterol, but ketogenic diets are linked to just that. It may be because the lower levels of insulin that result from these diets can stop your body from making more cholesterol. That means you’re less likely to have high blood pressure, hardened arteries, heart failure, and other heart conditions.

EPILEPSY
Epilepsy is one of the most common neurological disorders after Stroke, and affects at least 50million people worldwide. It is diagnosed in a person having recurrent unprovoked seizures.
Almost half of children and young people with epilepsy who have tried some form of this diet saw the number of seizures drop by at least half, and the effect persists even after discontinuing the diet.
Some evidence have shown that adults with epilepsy may benefit from the diet too.

Ketogenic Diet reduces Seizure frequency by more than 50% in half of patients who try it and by more than 90% in a third of patients. Children with refractory epilepsy are more likely to benefit.

DRAKE RESPONDS TO 'FAKE' REPORTS THAT HE TOLD FAN TO REMOVE HER HIJAB

"I would never make a disrespectful comment like that in my life."

Drake has responded to online rumors that he told a female fan at one of his concerts to remove her hijab, calling it a "fake media story."

As Hot New Hip Hop reports, the hip-hop superstar was caught on camera during a concert at London's O2 last week telling someone, "You got on that hot ass scarf right there, you might wanna take this off. You gotta turn this muthafucka up. You gotta come out of that shit."

The post has since been deleted but the original comment claimed she was wearing a hijab -- something Drake now disputes. Twitter responded at the time by condemning Drake for what was believed to be an attack on Muslim culture.

"I make a point every night to end my shows on a time of unity and love so, to find out that I am being utilized in a fake media story about me disrespecting Muslims is devastating to me," Drake said in a statement on Friday (Feb. 10). "At my show I'm the O2 in London I was talking to 4 women one of whom was wearing a jacket and a winter scarf, I made a comment about taking off the scarf because I enjoy a friendly banter with the fans. I am well aware of what a hijab is and I would never make a disrespectful comment like that in my life towards someone who is wearing one."

Drake continued, "I am proud that my closest friends and fans come from all different religions and races, perhaps whoever made up this story should spend more time learning about other cultures and less time trying to divide us."

See his Instagram post with the statement here:

FOUR ULTIMATE KEYS TO STARTING A ONLINE BUSINESS

If you are new in the world of online sales and are looking to make money online but you start with a small budget startup. With the dazzling wealth of information available to new entrepreneurs to learn how you can spend your limited resources can be a bit intimidating and worrisome.
The following are four ultimate keys to help you get started and run successfully.

1. Ensure You Have A Website.

You must have something to send customers back. It is a must that you have a website. Make sure you keep your site simple and copy by menus with email options to capture each site visitor or client.

There are available steps to selling your own website without much money.

Select a Content Management System(CMS) like Wordpress, which is popular for its kind and free.

Register for a domain name and subscribe to a hosting service.

2. Ensure That You Spend Time Getting Information About What You Sell Before You Start.

Get validation from potential customers who are not in your social circle of market. Some business owners use the "will to pull their wallet" test before investing money in a company.
If you are a beginner, surveys are an opportunity to find out what the customer wants as a product/ service for himself to solve. If you are already in business, surveys can ask how the customer discovered the product or service in the first place. If the customer is ready to return information as a customer to you then you are set to build a connection with them.

3. You Must know Your Competitors And Customers.

You should make sure that you study competitors and complementary brands. It is recommended, research tools such as search results related to SimilarWeb (at the bottom of any Google search) Google them and see which sites you are visited by your potential customers.

4. Create A Sales And Marketing Action Plan.

To earn your first million in sales, make sure you work backwards and rely on a series of what is needed in the monthly income to reach one million of the first year.

There you have it all. I hope this little post was helpful.

THINGS YOU SHOULDN'T TELL A WOMAN ON FIRST ACQUAINTANCE

I understand that not all men are careless with their words when speaking to a woman, but there are men out there who are completely careless about what they say to a woman they meet for the first time. It seems as though some men don't realize that they sometimes say the wrong thing to a woman they just meet.
If you would ask me a question about sensitivity, I would say women are much more sensitive and will easily take things to heart. With that being said, I will quickly highlight and explain things you should never say to a woman on first acquaintance.

1. PRETENDING TO KNOW HER --

So many guys are fond of pretending to a lady at first with an intention to start a conversation with her. Some guys are fond of saying "You look familiar...But I...I..I just can't place it". You actually don't know her but pretending to know her in order to get her attention.
Nowadays, ladies have grown more intelligent, they experience things from guys everyday and you just can't get them(mature-minded ladies) with that. I'm not trying to condemn this method but If you think you can get a lady's attention this way,you can go ahead but I think you would be wasting your time because for me, it wouldn't work.
The best way for you to get a lady's attention is to Just be straight up and introduce yourself to her and try as much as possible to remove doubts from your mind. Just walk towards her hoping that she would respond to you politely.
Note- your first expression matters a lot. The way and manner in which you introduce yourself would be very vital as this is what a lady observes the most when you first walk up to her. If you don't have a good introduction, I'm afraid you might get a rude response from her or some may totally ignore you.

2. BE A GOOD LISTENER.

Try not to talk too much about yourself and try to listen more. Ensure that you have a listener's disposition and be sure not to interrupt when she is talking. Give her much space to express herself and understand where she's coming from. Make sure you are as calm as a dove and don't make yourself look like a talker before her. Try as much as possible to reserve certain things till another date.

3. IRRELEVANT QUESTIONS.

It is very important that you ask relevant questions and don't ask random questions like you are interviewing her, No! that would only make you look boring and she could end up not having any more interest in the conversation. For example; A guy asks a lady saying "What's your favorite color?" and once she answers that, he immediately asks another question saying "do you like traveling?". Now you can see that these two questions are nowhere related. This can definitely turn her off. If your first question is "What is your favorite color?", and she answers saying "I love purple", your next question should be like this "on what occasion do you like wearing purple the most?" Or you can as well follow up with this "which between casual and formal wear do you like wearing the most"?. This way you can have a better and interesting conversation with her.
Just ensure that you make her feel relaxed and ask interesting questions.

4. DO NOT PASS THE COMMENT "I LOVE YOU".

Okay so many men are fond of doing this and which is really immature. I understand sometimes you find it hard to hold back when you set our eyes on someone who you like so much but you should understand that you don't say "I love you" just yet to a lady when you barely know her.
Do you know what comes to most lady's head when you say you love them on first acquaintance? Well, the answer is this; They feel highly disappointed and say "Am I that cheap"??. Believe it or not but this I think is what comes up in their end most times guys use the phrase "I love you". They may end up not taking the entire conversation serious and feel you had wasted their time. If any lady accepts the phrase "I love you" on first acquaintance, I want you to have it at the back of your mind that that lady isn't honest about how she feels, she probably might be lusting after you.
Bottom line is that you should try not to use the phrase "I love you" on first acquaintance because it can put the lady off.

5. WHY ARE YOU SINGLE?
    I think the moment you ask a lady this question, she gets suddenly uncomfortable. Especially if she has been single in a long time, frustrated from not meeting the right guy in a long time, or chose to remain single as a result of being betrayed in her previous relationship. She could escape this uncomfortable questions by giving you either of this two answers;

 A. I've just been focusing on myself(which may not be true because she probably might have been struggling in the dating world).
 B. I just got out of a long-term relationship(which of course she knows you wouldn't wanna know the details of that on a first meeting).

Having said that, You have every right to decide what to ask a woman. I'm just giving my own tips base on experience even though all women don't think the same way but basically, who wouldn't get uncomfortable when they are being asked this question.

 6. HOW MUCH MONEY DO YOU MAKE?

I think a woman could get a lot sensitive when you ask her about how much she make in her job. You don't ask a woman about how much she earns on first acquaintance. This could get her really uncomfortable.

There you have it. I hope these tips were helpful. If you have anything contrary or to contribute to the tips above, you can feel free to leave a comment.

Bronco and Ranger to join smarter new Ford-150

Ford has used the 2017 Detroit Auto Show to release an updated version of the best-selling truck in America. Although it looks similar to the current model, the new F-150 is a much smarter animal under the skin. Not content with one truck, Ford also announced the return of Bronco, which will be arriving alongside a new Ranger.

Ford says the new look is "even tougher," we say the designers slapped on a new grille, wheels and bumpers. Still, there was nothing wrong with the old one, so maybe an evolutionary approach is a good thing.

The real changes have been wrought under the skin, where a range of car-like driver assist systems have been fitted to make life easier for the driver. Thanks to new radar sensors and cameras, the car now has stop/go adaptive cruise control and pre-collision assist, which is able to detect pedestrians and attempt to minimize the impact of collisions by applying the brakes.

Another incredible thing is that passengers can access Wi-Fi on the move with a new 4G LTE, with support for up to 10 devices. Considering the car only seats five, and one of the five is the driver, we'd be seriously impressed if you could hit the limit. Along with these new options, the existing range of add-ons including lane-keeping assist, blind-spot warning and a surround camera are still available.

Under the hood, the new F-150 comes as  standard with a new direct-injection 3.3-liter V6. Although gives up 300 cc to the unit it replaces, Ford says the new engine produces the same 282 hp (210 KW) and 253 lb.ft (343Nm). It will be hooked up to a new 10-speed auto gearbox, as will the 2.7- liter EcoBoost.
Those in need of a V8 are also catered for with a mildly more powerful 5.0-liter, paired with the same automatic gearbox as the rest of the range. Lastly, 2018 will bring the arrival of a new type of F-150, with the addition of a 3.0-liter Powerstroke diesel.

Unfortunately, that still wont be enough to keep some folks happy. The Ranger hasnt been available at US dealers since 2012. It will be back in the US come 2019. And the Bronco will also be making a comeback in 2020. Both will be built in Michigan, United States.

YOU WILL NEVER SEE MICE, SPIDERS, AND INSECTS AGAIN IF YOU HAVE THIS PLANT IN YOUR HOUSE!

Insects are responsible for decomposing and eliminating organic matter and are major pollinizers of plants, which is of great ecological importance.

They also exterminate other species and prevent plagues. However, they also scare many people.

I take it you must have seen how people scream and jump around when they see a spider in their house.

Well, nobody will be comfortable with cockroaches and spiders in their homes.
The regular insect-repellents are laced with chemicals that can have adverse effects on your health.

Fortunately, there is a safe and effective natural solution that will help you get rid of the critters and ensure your home remains smelling fresh.

The solution is actually a plant called Mint. This plant features a fresh scent and is commonly used in various cuisines.

In order to drive away cockroaches and spiders from your home, you need to brew some fresh mint tea, allow it to cool, and then pour it into a spray bottle.

Spray this tea everywhere in your home, paying special attention to wall crevices and dark corners.
This will keep the annoying insects away and keep your home smelling fresh.

Bella Hadid Unfollows Selena Gomez On Instagram

Okay this is not good. There may be some bad blood brewing between Bella Hadid and Selena Gomez.
After a steamy pics of the singer kissing Hadid's ex boyfriend, The Weekend(who's real name is Abel Tesfaye). following a dinner date, Tuesday night, the 20year old model appears to have unfollowed Gomez on instagram

screen grabs obtained by Elle, taken before and after the photo bombshell show that Hadid appeared to stop following Gomez after the PDA went public.
As for now, Gomez still follows Hadid, who still follows The Weekend.

Pictures of Selena, 24, and The Weekend surfacing on TMZ showing the new couple embracing and locking lips outside a restuarant in Santa Monica.

It is reported Selena and The Weekend, 26, at first wanted to keep their budding romance under raps, but had a change of heart.

One source said: " At first, Selena and Abel wanted to keep their relationship low-key. but they've decided they really dont care if everyone knows about them.

Another source said: "Selena was focusing on getting herself back together and Abel was just getting out of a relationship, plus putting out of his new album. Abel and Bella also were on and off towards the end of their relationship, so getting into something brand new was not what Abel was looking for.

Another insider said: "Abel though always had a thing for Selena. He thinks she's extremely talented and sexy.

"She has been on his radar before. They are on the same level with expectations and think the other is really fun. They are taking things slow and getting to know each other."

OMG!!! Drake gifts Jennifer Lopez $100,000 Diamond Necklace

How sweet!!!

Drake and Jennifer lopez keep getting deeper in their relationship. The latest is that he gifted his love interest with a very special piece of jewelry to kick off 2017.

Drake, 30, purchased Tiffany Victoria necklace for $100,000. Lopez wore the 17" diamond strand-- which features over 15 carats worth of round, pear and marquise-shaped diamonds set in platinum-- A source exclusively reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly.

Romance speculation first sparked when the musical duo posted the bellow cuddly photo on instagram, teasing an upcoming collaboration. Then they were seen kissing on the dance floor at winter wonderland holiday event, where they were appropriately crowned king and queen of the ball.

Lopez, 47, flashed the diamond necklace at Drake's New Year's Eve concert at Hakkasan in Las Vegas. Later the same night, the mom of 8-year-old twins Max and Emme added a gold pendant chain (that bore a striking resemblance to a necklace Drake was photographed wearing one week prior) to her attire.

The pair, who first met in her Planet Hollywood dressing room after he attended her All I Have Las Vegas residency December 11, haven't been able to spend much time together since New Year's Eve due to Lopez's packed work schedule, shares a second pal. Still, the fling is "still going really well," notes another insider. "They talk all the time".

But don't be carried away by the rocks that Drake gave her: They are not in a rush to define their relationship.
Another insider added that Lopez had "moved on months ago" from on-again, off-again beau Casper Smart and is focusing on new experiences in the year ahead.

"Jen is looking forward with excitement to the new year. She keeps having out with Drake, and he has visited her house", the source shared. "She has nothing but nice things to say about Drake".

Okay there you have it! These two are really having a good time together. Let us know what you think about Drake's generous gift.

Mom Allegedly Locked 12-Year-Old Son in Bathroom For Over a Year and Starved Him: ‘Like a Horror Movie’

Brandy Jaynes

A Utah mom faces child abuse charges for allegedly locking her 12-year-old son in a pitch-black bathroom of her home for at least one year, PEOPLE confirms.

The boy, now under the care of physicians, was allegedly so malnourished he weighed only 30 pounds and was incapable of standing on his own, Washington County Sheriff’s Lt. David Crouse tells PEOPLE.

Likening his alleged living conditions to a “torture chamber,” Crouse believes the boy might have been in the bathroom of the Toquerville home for two years.

“It was like a horror movie you expect to see out of Hollywood,” Crouse says. “It was a small bathroom with feces and urine all over the floor.”

In addition, authorities allege the bathroom’s lights were kept off, with the switches secured in place under several layers of duct tape.

On Monday, police charged the boy’s mother, Brandy Jaynes, 36, with felony child abuse. Crouse says that the boy’s condition is improving. Doctors have yet to deliver a prognosis on his recovery time.

“We are just at the tip of the iceberg here as far as how and why this happened and how it will affect the child long term,” Crouse says, noting his department’s investigation continues. “We want to interview everyone involved. We don’t want to miss any angle on this.”

Detectives found a wireless camera in the bathroom and allege Jaynes used it to monitor the boy through an app on her smartphone.

There was also a baby monitor inside the bathroom, allegedly so Jaynes could relay instructions to her child. Police found empty cans of beans and a spoon in the shower and allege the shower’s drain was also sealed with duct tape.

Crouse compares the child’s living conditions to “a horrific incarceration in a third world country, where they just toss you in some food now and then.”

Crouse confirms investigators have been speaking with the boy’s father, who allegedly found him lying on the bathroom and rushed him to a nearby hospital. Crouse says the boy’s parents are married but separated, and adds police are not ruling out other persons of interest.

Jaynes has yet to enter a plea to the charge against her and it was unclear Wednesday if she had legal representation.

According to Crouse, the boy was allegedly taken out of school three years ago. He has two siblings who appear to be healthy, showing no signs of abuse, Crouse says. It remains unclear how much the siblings knew about what was allegedly happening, Crouse says.

As a policeman, Crouse says he has been to several disturbing crime scenes over the course of his career. The images of the dirty bathroom and the underweight boy will haunt him, he says.

“I wish I could unsee it.”

Miley Cyrus & Liam Hemsworth Secretly Married On New Years?! Sources Say YES!

Wow I don't know if this is official yet but rumors are running wild that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth finally tied the knot in secret over the holidays!

If it happened, it was close to New Years, when both Miley’s and Liam’s family were all in San Diego celebrating the end of 2016. That includes Liam’s mother Leonie, his famous brother Chris and his wife Elsa Pataky.

It’s Cyrus’ Instagram posts, which ignited rumors. The singer posted several from the family’s all-gold New Year’s party, and one particular snap shows Miley’s mom and Liam’s mom together. Miley captioned the photo “In-laws.”

Since then, NW Magazine tracked down a source that is confirming nuptials took place:

“It was all extremely last-minute,” according to the source. “Liam’s entire family flew over for the holidays and the Cyrus family were in town too. It just seemed like a no-brainer to do it while everyone was together.”

Now don't get too excited. know that none of this is yet confirmed. Neither Cyrus nor Hemsworth has commented on the rumors; the only evidence we have is one mid-party Insta from Miley and the story of some anonymous stranger.

There you have it folks, what are your thoughts on this development?

7 things discussed in MMM guiders meeting ahead of January 14 comeback

No fewer than 2 million Nigerians have invested in this money doubling scheme and have benefitted from its 30% return on interest.  Nigerians were benefiting until December 13, 2016, when MMM Nigeria froze all confirmed Mavros, promising to resume after one month.

Managers of the scheme have disclosed that participants accounts will be unfrozen on January 14.

Ahead of the date for resumption, MMM guiders held a meeting today, January 11 and below is an update shared on the group's Facebook page. Here are seven things that were discussed.

1. Guidelines for the new model would be published on participants’ personal office (PO) before Sunday on the news section. This will explain how the new model works.

2. From Saturday January 14, participants would be able to GH (get help), PH (provide help) and GH match would resume. So if you requested to provide help, make your money available as people will get orders to make payment.

3. Mavro would continue to grow on Tuesdays and Thursdays as it was before.

Ahead of January 14, MMM Nigeria announced that it will be introducing Bitcoin as a new form of payment. Before accounts of MMM participants were frozen, they were allowed to provide help in bitcoin, but they were paid back in naira. Bitcoin, the increasingly popular digital currency, was the best performing currency in 2016.

Also, members have been urged to start promoting the scheme ahead of January 14 comeback.

All MMM participants can do is pray for the scheme to come back so they can get their money back.

Revealed: Kim Kardashian's Robbery Was Allegedly An Inside Job, Connected To Her Limo Driver

kim Kardashian's robbery was one of the biggest headlines of 2016. Everyone wanted to put in their two cents: Was it a publicity stunt? Was it an inside job? Was it all just one big conspiracy?

Now, we can all stop speculating. After a whopping 17 arrests were made, law enforcement now believes the robbery to be an inside job.

One of the suspects connected to the robbery just so happens to be Kardashian's limo driver, a 27-year-old man who is frequently employed by the family when they're in Paris. This unidentified driver was the last person to see Kardashian before the robbery went down, and as it turns out, police believe he supplied the other 16 suspects with exclusive information regarding her whereabouts. Talk about a plot twist!

Despite the fact that this information is rather disturbing, Kim is actually "very happy and reassured" that arrests are being made. Us Weekly reports that Kardashian must review footage of robbery as the investigation continues, which we assume will be very traumatic for her.

Fulani herdsmen takeover Ojukwu’s university

According to a report by Vanguard newspaper, cow dung litter all the asphalted roads that crisscross the campus just as cows are seen surrounding lecture halls, faculty and administrative buildings even when work is going on.

According to some of those who spoke with the newspaper, cows have become part of the university community since nobody was prepared to chase them away.

“It is embarrassing to see this kind of thing in the university campus every day and I wonder what the management of the university is doing about it. Sometimes one would stay for minutes waiting for cows to pass, even when one is trying to beat time,” a visitor to the school was quoted.

A staff of the university, who gave his name as Douglas said there was a time students threatened to handle the matter their own way, but were stopped by the management. He said that sometimes, hundreds of cows could be seen roaming the campus and destroying farmlands, wondering why the herdsmen should be acting as if they were above the law.

“I know that authorities of this university can stop this menace if they want to, but it would appear that they are afraid of taking the necessary action and I don’t know why,” Douglas said.

3 legal charges Nnamdi Kanu is being held for

The outrage and mixed reactions have somehow overshadowed the real issues in the Nnamdi Kanu case.

Why was he arrested? Why is he not yet released, what are the real accusations that have been laid against him. What real charges have been leveled against him? Here they are:

1. Treasonable felony

The offence of treason is a capital offence which is defined by section 37(1) of the Criminal Code Act as:

- Any person who levies war against the state, in order to intimidate or overawe the president or the governor of a state is guilty of treason and is liable to the punishment of death.

- Any person conspiring with any person, either within or without Nigeria, to levy war against the state with the intent to cause such leving of war as would be treason if committed by a citizen of Nigeria, is guilty of treason and is liable to punishment of death.

The charge against Nnamdi Kanu reads as follows:

"That you, Nnamdi Kanu and other unknown persons, now at large, at London, United Kingdom, between 2014 and September, 2015 with intention to levy war against Nigeria in order to force the President to change his measures of being the President of the Federation, Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federation as defined in Section 3 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) by doing an act to wit: Broadcast on Radio Biafra your preparations for the states in the South- East geo-political zone, South-South geo-political zone, the Igala Community of Kogi State and the Idoma/Igede Community of Benue State to secede from the Federal Republic of Nigeria and form themselves into a Republic of Biafra, and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 41(C) of the Criminal Code Act, CAP C38 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004."

2. Illegal items

The other allegation is contained in section 47(2) (a) of the Customs and Excise Management Act. The act covers importation of illegal goods and banned products.

He stands accused of bringing the transmitters for Radio Biafra into Nigeria illegally. A telecommunication maintenance engineer, David Nwawuisi, revealed that he got an initial payment of N150,000 to install a Radio Biafra transmitter on an MTN mast in Ngwo, Enugu state.

3. Maintaining an unlawful society

In the Nigerian constitution, an unlawful society is any society includes any combination of ten or more persons whether the society be known by any name or not.

A society is an unlawful society if declared by an order of the President to be a society dangerous to the good government of Nigeria or of any part thereof.

Any person who manages or assists in the management of an unlawful society is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for seven years.

Nnamdi Kanu stands accused of maintaining an unlawful society and retaining items belonging to IPOB, among others.

Governor Ayodele Fayose must be arrested - CSOs

A coalition of civil society organizations have called on the federal government to probe and arrest the Ekiti state governor. The coalition said the governor must be arrested for his alleged role in the arms deal scandal.
The group also urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Department of State Security to commnece an investigation of the governor.

Some civil society organizations have called on the federal government to arrest the Ekiti state governor Ayodele Fayose for his alleged role in the arms deal scandal.

The CSOs – a coalition of five anti-corruption organizations under the aegis of Corruption and Democracy Watchers in Nigeria – said the governor must first be impeached and then arrested.

In a communiqué released by the organizations in Lagos themed: “The Buhari Anti-Corruption Drive: An Assessment” said the arms deal scandal led to a huge loss of many innocent lives in Nigeria.

The Chairman and the secretary of the organization Abdulmalik Shaba and Aisabo Tunde on the communiqué urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Department of State Security to commence investigation on Fayose.

The duo said the investigation on the governor must begin before impeachment, arrest or expiration of his tenure.

“We are particularly irked at the amazing revelations on the looting and criminal diversion of the $2.1 billion arms procurement fund under the office of the former National Security Adviser (ONSA), headed by Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) (otherwise known as Dasukigate) voted for the purchase of arms and ammunition to battle Boko Haram insurgency in Northeast Nigeria," the groups said.

"It expressed concern at the slow pace of investigation and prosecution of the suspects involved in the Dasukigate and other corruption acts, by the judiciary, and urged security agents and the judiciary to expedite action on the pending cases in order to dish out justice to families affected by the insurgency.

"And that Nigerians and international community should enlist in the campaign of prevailing on Governor Ayodele Fayose to do the needful by coughing out the looted arms fund.

“Failure in this regard would imply the failing in assuaging the pains of humanity which suffered as a consequence of his criminal and wicked act on defenseless and vulnerable Nigerians,” the CSOs said.

Do you know Bitcoin has been lucrative and you could make money from it?

Bitcoin has been in existence since 2009 but many Nigerians learnt about it in 2016 through some online investment schemes that transacts with Bitcoin.

However, Irrespective of the fact that you have done one or two transactions with Bitcoin, you will be astonished to realize that there are still more to explore on Bitcoin.

But some Nigerians are yet to know what Bitcoin is, to carry everyone along let’s do a brief introduction to Bitcoin.

Some persons have this misconception that 'Bitcoin belongs to Ponzi schemes' because they know nothing about Bitcoin. Ponzi schemes make use of currency that is worldly accepted. Previously Ponzi schemes used PayPal but due to high demand for Bitcoin and how ease and speedy it is for transactions, it becomes the ideal currency. So Bitcoin doesn’t belong to ponzi schemes, any person or organization can use Bitcoin for transactions just like PayPal.

What really is Bitcoin?

Bitcoins are fully digital virtual coins that can be exchanged directly between two parties via the web either in the same country or not, without the need for an intermediary such as Western Union Money transfer.

Unlike modern money, Bitcoin, which has often been called money for the internet, is not controlled or endorsed by any bank or central government or authority , such as the Federal Reserve.

Bitcoin is a means of exchange that is generally accepted in the digital world, that’s why it is called digital currency.

Just like any other currency, Bitcoin has value and it is also in the exchange market. When Bitcoin started, 1BTC was less than 1USD. As at today, 1BTC is equivalent to 1000+USD. Meaning if own 1BTC and you want to exchange it, the other party will pay you 1000USD (N500,000) to collect 1 single Bitcoin from you. Can you imagine how rich you will be if you have 5 to 10 Bitcoins?

Importance of Bitcoin in the business world

Bitcoin is increasingly popular in the business world. Thousands of businesses around the world now accept Bitcoin as a legitimate payment method. While some time ago it was used as payment for illegal goods online, thousands of reputable e- commerce business are beginning to accept BTC as payment , including suppliers of Etsy , WordPress , Overstock and Amazon. As a means of exchange, it is possible for Bitcoin to become the first global official currency. When this happens, there will immense demands for Bitcoins.

Recently, Trump added to his cabinet an active and vocal supporter of cryptocurrencies and blockchain, Congressman Mick Mulvaney as his administration’s Director of Office of Management and Budget.

Also our financial authorities CBN and Co have noticed Bitcoin and they are currently examining it.

Last week, Vanguard newspaper reported that Alhaji Umaru Ibrahim, the Managing Director, Nigeria Deposit Insurance Commission (NDIC), on Friday said:

“On our part, we have constituted a committee together with the central bank to have an in debt study of this phenomenal Bitcoin. We will look at its advantages and disadvantages, what it means for the payment system and what it means for safety and security of customers.’’

Ibrahim further said a lot of Nigerians had already started patronizing Bitcoin, stressing that ‘it had started to creep in and nobody could stop it. He said that in Europe and the United States, it had gained currency and some of the leading banks in Europe had also adopted their own versions of Bitcoins.

Evidently, very soon Bitcoin may become a household name. People will need Bitcoins to carry out various transactions. You can imagine the kind of money you will make if you become a reliable Bitcoin dealer. No white collar job can be compared to it.

Remember, when a new business opportunity emerges, not all will quickly recognize it. Most times, the few to first invest on just ventures use to make a lot of money before other investors come in to compete.

Budget 2017: Lawmakers issue crucial warning to Buhari

Nigerian Lawmakers have issued a strict warning to President Muhammadu Buhari as regards the 2017 budget.

The lawmakers warned that an un-ending face-off could be triggered if the president insists on having his way all through the budget process
The two chambers of the National Assembly are to resume on Tuesday, January 10.

Against the background of claims that legislative re-order and revision of the budget amounted to padding, legislators have sounded a note of warning that they would not condone any intrusion, as they execute into their duties as stated in the constitution.

Besides the budget and the MTEF/FSP, also on agenda of the returning lawmakers are the Petroleum Industry Governance Bill, PIGB, the ban on the importation of vehicles through land borders, the crisis in Southern Kaduna and an investigation into the state of the aviation sector.

The 2016 budget proposal was enveloped in controversies, following the disappearance of the budget document in the Senate, the circulation of fake copies and allegations of the inflation of the proposals.

To avoid the acrimonious situation in the 2017 budget, the Presidency had, through the Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters, Senator Ita Enang, last year, given conditions upon which the President would sign the budget.

Senator Enang, at a colloquium on Budget Matters in Abuja, during the unveiling of Order Paper, had said that President Buhari might not assent to Appropriation bills passed by the National Assembly unless the schedule of details of the budget was duly passed on the floor of both chambers of the National Assembly.

Reacting to the issue, the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Mr. Jonathan Gaza, said the condition given by the Presidency was not necessary as the House was only interested in doing what would be of benefit to Nigerians. He said: “We intend to cooperate fully with the executive and discharge our legislative duties as we have been empowered by the constitution.

“That which needs to be done, we will make sure it is done appropriately, adequately and, of course, we always act within the law and the powers which the constitution has given us.

“We have always insisted that we do not know what padding is, only if you can show me ‘padding’ in the constitution.

"We are going to discharge our duties as mandated in the constitution and, of course, with strict adherence to the law.

After all, we have never flouted the law in discharging our constitutional duties.” He also noted that the 2016 budget had errors and inconsistencies when it came from the executive, adding, “and we had to work both ways to smoothen it out.”

Also speaking on the issue, Mr. Austine Chukwukere, Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Finance, said: “It is not the duty of the executive to decide how the parliament performs its constitutional functions as regards the appropriation. “There are processes to follow.

The executive has submitted the budget estimate; they should stay back and watch us do our work. We are not to be stampeded.”

Asked if the President decides not to assent to the Appropriation Bill, if it does not follow its line of thought, Chukwukere, who represents Ideato Federal Constituency of Imo state, said: “What happened to last year’s budget estimate was that the National Assembly did not want Nigerians to suffer and the country be on a standstill because it was the first budget, even though it came late with its problems.”

Also speaking, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ujam, representing Nkanu Federal Constituency of Enugu State said:

“The 2017 Appropriation estimate was sent to us on December 14, 2016 by Mr. President.

“There is a laid down procedure for passing an Appropriation Bill. I do not see why we should deviate from that. If the President lays the appropriation, we look at it, scrutinise it and do adjustment where it is necessary.”

On what happens if the President refuses to assent to it, he said: “The President cannot refuse to sign the Appropriation Bill. If there are areas he feels that should be accommodated, he will come back to us; we have the power of appropriation.”

Overzealous aides and eye-service chiefs

Chairman House Committee on Public Petitions, Uzoma Nkem-Abonta, said: “I do not think President Buhari is undemocratic. Budget process is a democratic process.

And I do not think Mr. President will want to put a clog in the wheel of democratic process. I think that may be an overzealous statement from his aides.

“Do you mean that in the face of obvious mistakes that we should return the budget like that? They described it as budget estimates, which means there is no finality in the document as presented.

“The document ought to go through legislative purity before it can become law. “Let me caution that the opposition, in doing its job, ought to take a critical analysis of the budget, distil it very well, identify areas not fit enough and increase areas of economic benefit.”

A move has been initiated by the House of Representatives, to reduce the power of the President in the case of judges.

Vanguard reports that the House has called for the involvement of National Judicial Council (NJC), in the procedure for the removal of head of courts to avoid victimisation by the executive.

This was contained in a Bill, entitled An act to pursuant to Section 9(1) and (2) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) to alter Section 292 (1) (A) and (i) (ii) to include the National Judicial Council in the procedure for the removal of heads of courts established by the Constitution under Section 6 (5), promoted by Garba Datti Muhammad, APC, Kaduna.

Before now, the NJC can only recommend an erring judge to the President, but if the Bill is eventually passed, the body would be involved in the discipline or removal of any erring judge.

6 facts about the MMM new Bitcoin form of payment

MMM needs no introduction, the Ponzi scheme has gained so much traction in Nigeria, that many people would heavily criticize anyone who dared to speak against the scheme.

This was until December 2016, when the scheme froze money expected by members, freezing many dreams of a well spent festive period. The MMM organizers promised to unfreeze the monies on January 14, 2017.

Many are awaiting with bated for that date. However, while many wait, the scheme has added a new option of payment and it is in bitcoin.

What is bitcoin? How does it work? Below are some facts we would like to share with you:

1. When was bitcoin invented?

Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency and a payment system invented by a yet to be identified programmer, or group of programmers, under the name of Satoshi Nakamoto.

Bitcoin was introduced on 31 October 2008 to a cryptography mailing list, and released as open-source software in 2009.

2. What is bitcoin?

Bitcoin while it is called crytptocurrency can also be referred to as digital currency. Bitcoins can be exchanged for other currencies, products, and services. In layman's terms, bitcoins are money, a type of currency, which is slowly being accepted worldwide.

3. How can you get bitcoins?

Apart from buying and exchanging it for other currencies, you can also get bitcoins, by mining for them.

When bitcoins are created as a reward in a competition some users offer their computing power to verify and record bitcoin transactions into the blockchain. This activity is referred to as bitcoin mining and successful miners are rewarded with transaction fees and newly created bitcoins.

4. What is the worth of bitcoins currently?

Currently, a bitcoin is worth 285,367.95 Nigerian Naira, not a small amount by any means. The unit of account of the bitcoin system is bitcoin.

As of 2014, small amounts of bitcoin used as alternative units are millibitcoin (mBTC), microbitcoin (µBTC, sometimes referred to as a bit), and satoshi.

Named in homage to bitcoin's creator, a satoshi is the smallest amount within bitcoin representing 0.00000001 bitcoin, one hundred millionth of a bitcoin. A millibitcoin equals to 0.001 bitcoin, one thousandth of bitcoin. One microbitcoin equals to 0.000001 bitcoin, one millionth of a bitcoin.

6. What are the dangers?

However, it is not a stable form of currency and is still not accepted in most countries. Also bitcoins are untraceable, so if you lose it you lost it for good.

According to expert, Ivan Razl, there is no mechanism to recover stolen or lost Bitcoins. If somebody hacks into your wallet where you store your Bitcoins you lost them for good. The best way to store your Bitcoins is on disk that is disconnected from the internet.

Also, it is not useful in many places, so you are more likely to buy or mine it now as an investment.

"How God used a witch to save me" - PASTOR ADEBOYE

Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has disclosed how God used a witch to save his life when he was still a youngman.

Pastor E.A. Adeboye

Adeboye, in a thanksgiving and Prophetic Declaration Service at the church national headquarters, Throne of Grace Parish in Ebute-Meta, Lagos, narrated that God used the witch to stop him from eating kola nut which would have led to his death.

According to Daily Post, the former lecturer said: “I was telling my children that whenever we wanted to study at night while we were young, we used kola nut as our own coffee as we did not have money to buy coffee. We ate the kola nut to stay awake.

“One day, the number one self confessed witch in our compound, called me and said: “Dejare, why won’t you stop eating kola nut?

” The witch warned me to desist from what can lead to my death. I think God spoke through the witch and I can say God loves me.

“You are alive today not because you are clever, wise or know how to do it but simply because God loves you. There are lots of people who are in the prison who are free. I was at the Kirikiri Prison where I heard testimonies that brought tears to my eyes.

“Some of them said they were in prison but they are free men because they have Jesus; they were incarcerated but they are free. And there are people who are outside the prison who are prisoners.

“It is because God loves you that you are able to conquer all that the devil threw at you last year. Left for the enemy you, will not be here today but because God loves you, you are more than conqueror.”

MMM introduces Bitcoin as new payment ahead of January 14 relaunch

Ahead of its January 14, relaunch, popular MMM Nigeria has said it is introducing Bitcoin, the 2016 world’s best performing currency, as its means of payment.

The surging digital currency tipped to become a new safe haven asset as the world grapples with growing economic uncertainty, neared its all-time high on Thursday, January 5.

Although hopes among the participants of the ponzi scheme are still high in Nigeria, many have continued to turn to Bitcoin which had been there but had little patronage like it was with the ponzi scheme.

Nigerians want their Ponzi scheme

Before MMM froze the accounts of its members, participants were allowed to provide help in bitcoin, but they were paid back in Naira.

However, the new plan allows participants to receive payment in bitcoin, and watch their monies grow in bitcoin.

MMM in a statement on its Facebook page to participants on Sunday, January 8, said: “Due to the recent sharp price fluctuations of Bitcoin, MAVRO-BTC is being introduced in the system”.

So far, we have only had Mavro-Naira in the system. Even though you provided help via Bitcoin, your Bitcoins, anyway, were recalculated into the Nigerian Naira at the exchange rate at the moment of providing help, and you were credited with Mavro-Naira in your PO,” the statement read.

“It was the naira amount that grew. In other words you received 30% a month specifically in the naira (not in Bitcoins, although you originally provided help using Bitcoins).

“Now, you have a chance to have 30% growth of the Bitcoin amount, not the naira amount. So, acquire MAVRO-BTC which will be credited in your PO and will grow at a 30% monthly growth rate. In a month not only 30% will be added to your initial amount, but it can increase itself due to Bitcoin price growth.

“And what if Bitcoin price is going to fall? In case Bitcoin price might go down, you will be able to return to naira at any time — instantly convert your MAVRO-BTC into Mavro-Naira (and vice versa, if Bitcoin price might increase again). This option is available in PO. You can convert both confirmed and unconfirmed Mavro.

“We hope that with implementing MAVRO-BTC, your participation in MMM will become more comfortable!”

In a related development, MMM Nigeria has urged its users to start promoting the scheme ahead of January 14 comeback.

MMM encouraged participants to perform what it called “Promo Tasks: A New Tool for MMM Community Development.”

Joe Biden to Trump: 'Grow up. Time to be an adult'

The vice president of the United states made the critical remarks during an interview with PBS on thursday. When asked to comment on Trump's frequent use of Twitter, and particularly a controversial tweet which he called Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer the "head clown" of the Democratic Party, but Biden didn't pull any punches.

"Grow up, Donald. Grow up. Time to be an adult. You're president," Biden said. "You gotta do something, show us what you have."

Biden then warned Trump about how his job will change after his inauguration on January 20.

Biden said "You are going propose legislation. We are going to get to debate it. Let the public debate it, let them vote in Congress, let's see what happens," "its going to be much clearer what he's for and against, and what we're for and against, now that its going to get down to actually discussing in details this issues that affects people's lives."

Joe Biden's political plans after he leaves office are unclear- he has alternately floated the idea of a presidential run in 2020 and tamped down expectations for a return to politics.

FG to start paying N30,000 monthly stipends to N-power beneficiaries

The Federal Government has started the payment of N30,000 monthly stipends for beneficiaries of N-power scheme, the job creation programme of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.
States that are yet to conclude the physical verification process are being urged to do so as that would enable the N-Power beneficiaries in those states to draw from its benefits and empowerment offers.

The N-Power programme is designed to engage the massive numbers of unemployed Nigerian graduates from tertiary institutions across the country.

A total of 150,000 out the 200,000 selected in the first phase of the scheme would be deployed as support teachers to help address shortage of teachers in schools at the basic or secondary levels.

Another 30,000 graduates would work as extension workers in various communities which will expectedly aid the government's diversification agenda.
